FULL DETAILS - THU 3 JULY 1986 - The audio starts just after a record Walk On The Wild Side by Gerty Molzen. This appalling record was "just a taste of what is to come tonight" as it was James's last show before his 2 week holiday and so is playing a load of terrible records. He mentions that it is also the welcome return of Rita Roe's theatrical spot. He then went on to play Milligan & Nesbitt and "one of their timeless numbers" but didn't confirm which. - Then there was a break and James misguidedly introduced some current affairs to discuss - Then it was The Birdie Song by Foster & Allen. James then announced a caller coming next after the break. After the break there was a clip from James Bond for no apparent reason - Paul Williamson in Prestwich wanted to talk about a theory of what came first, the chicken and egg - he also introduced James to the William Hulme Jim Reeve League Table - Roy Acorn in Rochdale said it was Albert Acorn's birthday today and started singing happy birthday to him, so James cut him off - Then it was 99% Of Gargoiles by Half Man Half Biscuit and then a break before more calls - Mike Dean wanted to do some "get losts" to various people, then wanted to tell James about his dream about how he was being cut off by James. He went on to explain how he has been committed for three weeks. Then all about the fly that wouldn't die. James also then promised that "all this claptrap" would stop when he got back from holiday - Then Hazel Thompson in Stockport wanted to talk about Boy George and his drug problem - Brian Wheelan in Offerton wanted to talk about Women's rights and how women are treated better in the workplace than men - Tom Donahue in Manchester wanted to talk about the TV licence and then a break - Then more calls and Taff wanted to complain about the GPO - Bill Cochrain in Sale wanted to talk about the police's new riot equipment then a timecheck that it was almost 10.55 - Next came a break, a record by John Inman (we don't get to find out which it was) and then the 11.00 news - After the news James then describes the previous record as being "You're My Son" by Kenny Rogered (another clip from this part is available with some of the song on it). James also refers to himself as "Jim H Reeve" - the only time I can ever remember hearing him call himself that. Then came a break and then Rita Roe - Rita Roe then did her theatre review and lots of were they/weren't they going on holiday together next week - Then came a break and a record by Slim Dusty called Duncan Version 1 then another break and back to the calls - A timecheck of 11.38 and then Sarah Jones in Oldham wanted to talk about the NSPCC and how her neighbour leaves her 5 year old in the house while going out for the night - Lee Wilson in swinton wanted to talk about work training starting at the age of 14. He also wanted to take over from James when he is on holiday the next week. Lee and James agree that The Smiths are rubbish - Jane White from Heaton Chapel then came on before Lee's call had finished and wanted to ask what the difference was between the old police truncheon and new continental type - Then there was a break and a timecheck of 11.48 - Next was John Roe of Chorlton who wanted to say it was great that he had moved on from Manchester v Liverpool from the previous night. Then goes on to talk about something to do with Ian Botham and some speech he had made. Then came a break - Then came a clip of Rock Around The Clock by The Singing Sheep and James promised the full version at 12.30 which will be the "All Animal Segway" section of the programme. Then it was the news - After the news it was Wikka Rap by The Evasions, and James tells us it was from 1981 (which it was) - it appears to be a rap type record featuring clips of Alan Whicker, although we don't get to hear it on this clip - James then lets us know that in 51 mins 10 seconds he won't be working again until after his holiday - James also lets us know that Mike Briscoe is taking over the show for the next 2 weeks - Next caller is Chris Butterworth in Stalybridge who wants to talk about manholes and that the majority of them are aluminium, and he wanted to be put top of the morons list - The Nairobian Embassy then called and he wanted to be top of the morons list too and he had a list of nasties - James then returned to the unattended child in the house issue from earlier and read out advice from listeners Carol from Plymouth and Brendan in Moss Side - Paul Stott (or something) from Liverpool is the next caller with "a funny joke" James said, but he actually had a list of "the 5 worst things" and lots of Mancunian jokes - Michael Ridley in Peel Green wanted to talk about insurance - Neville Sponge wanted to tell a Paul Stott from Liverpool joke and a problem with sun tans. Then came a break and a timecheck - 26 and a half minutes past midnight - Carl Buckley in Alderley Edge wants to mention about a situation with a P45 at the petrol station where he works - Michael Ball in Rochdale wants to know why there are no amenities like Alton Towers in Manchester and James explains why he doesn't like Manchester United - James announces then that Jimmy White in Crumpsall thinks he's coming on the programme but is mistaken - Paul Abbot in Chorlton said they should demolish Liverpool and put a leisure park there - Someone in Blackley wanted to talk about way Liverpudlians are stupid and then Ian Botham - the clip ends part way through this call at around 12.45am
