- The audio starts midway through a call from David Moss in Hyde who said he was sick and tired of the advert for Tony Michaelides (Tony The Greek)'s show
- Chris Butterworth in Stalybridge who wanted to tell a scouse joke
- David White in Oldham who wants to talk about the fluctuating price of petrol. He mentioned that the price of petrol had done from 1.45 - 1.54 up to 1.64 per gallon (today petrol is about 5 per gallon!!). James mentioned that Steve Huckvale was answering the phone that night.
- There was then a break and and a timecheck of 11:38pm. Then a record by UB40 "We'll sing our own song" then another break and it was 11:45
- A letter from Martin Rimmer in Warrington was accusing James that none of his politcal statements were correct on whatever night he was referring to, and James invited Martin into the studio to discuss it further
- Back to the phones and Martin Rimmer from Blackley wanted to talk about manholes as he fell down one and wanted to get compensation
- Neil Cochran in Bramhall wants to know what the first record that was played on Piccadilly and James confirmed it was Good Vibrartions by the Beach Boys
- Keith Dale in Wigan wants to talk about selling manhole covers
- Barry Stecker in Bury was introduced as "Chris Butterworth in Stalybridge" by James, and he blamed Steve Huckvale for the error. Barry wanted to tell scouse jokes
- David Langon in Rochdale wants to talk about the royal family
- Then it was a break then a record - Dean Martin with "Memories are made of this". James mentions the time was 12.08am so presumably the news was also before the record. James also mentions that Phil Wood is on 1am - 5am. Then there was another break
- David Armstrong in Newton (near Hyde) wants to talk about the Rainbow Children
- Alan Atwood from Prescot wants to offer James a job on a Liverpool radio station
- James then plays a record for someone but won't say who - it is presumably for Rita Roe, and it isn't clear what record it was. Timecheck done at 12:22am, then a break
- Jock Strap in Radcliffe wants to talk about the Hysel Stadium disaster
- Ray in Denton wants to know what kind of a programme it is supposed to be and to talk about the Hysel Stadium disaster
- Timcheck 12:33am and then Jean Clive in Irlam wants to say that a caller yesterday called Phil Beckett who called to talk about an XR3 crash on Barton Bridge was making it up, and he was sat there with her. She passed the phone to him, and he said it wasn't lies, but Jean was drunk
- Jimmy White in Crumpsall called to say that Arthur Scargill lives in a fantasy world and wanted to know why James hadn't got his letter yet

- Mark Greenwood (not Robin Birdcrest) wanted to know if James has ever been on Jury service, and also wanted to know if James had a jingle
